Police Nab Grandpa For Defiling Two-year-old Girl In Edo

 Police in Edo have arrested a 63-year-old grandfather, Sunday Igbinokhuaihe, for defiling a two-year-old girl.

The rape took place at Urhonigbe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo state, with the suspect being a neighbour to the parents of the victim, according to The Natkion report.

It was gathered yesterday in Benin that Igbinokhuaihe lured the little girl into his room with a loaf of bread, while using his finger to break her hymen, at a time the victim’s mother was preparing dinner in the kitchen for members of her family.

The mother was shocked when her daughter screamed when she was bathing her in the evening of the same day, with the victim opening up on what earlier transpired, making her mother to raise the alarm.

A report was lodged at the Urhonigbe police station, leading to the suspect’s arrest and later transfer to Abudu divisional police headquarters.

Igbinokhuaihe was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for trial.

Cultist Rapes 13-Year-Old Girl To Death In Benue; Threatens Her Family

 A 13-year-old JSS 3 student of Makurdi Academy North Bank identified as Kumawuese, was last year November 20th raped at gun point by a notorious cultist identified as V. William of Antsa village North Bank Benue which led to her death before Christmas, IgbereTV reports.

A humanitarian aid worker, Ukan P Kurugh who shared the news on Facebook stated that the rapist (cultist) went ahead to threaten the family of the late girl even after his own family members arranged a meeting and according to them settled the matter between them.

Ukan further stated that the girl's family are currently planning to sell their house and relocate for fear of the said rapist.

The girl's family as am told are planning to sell their house and move out of North Bank for fear of the said rapist and up till now, they are still reluctant to speak about this, as it is the cousin who has briefed me about the whole thing yesterday after hiding it for this long.

I will be meeting this family latest Monday to see how we can go about this whole situation.

On the 26/1/2021 at about 7:45pm, Police operatives attached to Ozubulu Police Station, arrested one Chukwuemeka Obijofa, 'm', aged 28 years, of Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.

Suspect allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained and attacked his wife, one Chisom Chukwuemeka, 'f', aged 26 years, and own child, named Amanda Chukwuemeka, 'm', aged 4 years, both of same address, with a shovel on their heads.

Suspect equally used same object and wounded a vigilante man who tried to rescue the victims.
Meanwhile, police detectives visited the scene and rushed victims to the joint hospital, Ozubulu, for medical attention where the two victims were certified dead by a medical doctor on arrival.

The wounded vigilante is responding to treatment, while the corpses of the victims were deposited at the hospital's morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police, CP John B.Abang, fdc, has directed the DPO to transfer the case to State CID, Awka, for discreet investigation to unravel the actual cause of the incident.

Rapist Throws Girl To Her Death From Five-storey Building

 Yesterday, the boisterous town of Awada in Onitsha South LGA of Anambra State, was thrown into anxiety and mourning due to the gory sight of a young woman (names withheld) that was killed in the area.

A neighbour who wants to remain anonymous, alleged that the victim came to visit her boyfriend yesterday but unknown to her, he has moved out from the area.

Continuing, he said, "the rapist was roommates with the girl's boyfriend and when she came and didn't meet her boyfriend after his number was not connecting, her boyfriend's roommate offered her to stay and wait for her boyfriend.

"As he was a known face, she obliged him and relaxed. Unknown to her, the erstwhile roommate has sinister motives as he left to go fetch condoms. When he came back, he jumped on her and tried to molest her and this led to intense struggle between the duo.

"It was in this process that he got angry after her retaliatory attacks and struggling and threw her down from the balcony".

It is alleged that this is the second time that similar incident is taking place in the area.

Lady Kills Her Husband With The Heel Of Her Shoe In Warri

 A wife on Saturday, in Ugbuwangue, Warri, Delta State, hit her husband with the heel of her shoe over allegation of infidelity, killing him in the process, IgbereTV reports.

The mother-of-two struck her husband, Sylvester Etsebanghanro Ighomi, at the back of his head with the shoe.

IgbereTV gathered that the couple had engaged in a misunderstanding over alleged infidelity on the part of the deceased.

It was learnt that the woman had approached her husband where he sat and struck him with her shoe heel in the back of his head from behind. He fainted and began to foam from his mouth and died before he could reach the hospital.

It is in doubt if the deceased was legally married to the woman or fulfilled all the marriage rites on her. But the deceased had lived with her and the children, a community source said.

The suspect has been detained by the police as at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, friends of the deceased have taken to Facebook to mourn him.

Rapist Caught In The Act In Cross River State

 The police have arrested a housewife in Kano State for allegedly killing her husband’s fiancée, a week to their wedding.

The police on Tuesday said Suwaiba Shuaibu, 20, stabbed Aisha Kabir, 17, to death in an uncompleted building in Doguwa Local Government Area of the state.

The police spokesperson in Kano, Abdullahi Kiyawa, said Kabiru Jafaru had lodged a report with the police that Miss Kabir was missing.

Mr Kiyawa said the police after preliminary investigation arrested Mrs Shuaibu of the same address as the complainant.

The suspect is the wife of Shaibu Ali, who was to be wedded to Miss Kabir on January 9, after six years of courtship, the police said.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that she had called the victim on phone, deceived and lured her to an uncompleted building in their neighbourhood where she used a sharp knife to stab her on her neck, chest and other parts of her body.

“I killed the Aisha out of jealousy because my husband proposed to marry her,” the police quoted the suspect saying.

Officers evacuated the corpse of Miss Kabir to Tudun Wada General Hospital, the police spokesperson said.

He said the state’s Commissioner of Police, Habu Sani, has directed the case to be transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section, to wrap up the investigation.

Mr Kiyawa said the suspect would be charged to court after the exercise.

Mum Accused Of Stabbing Her Newborn Baby 22 Times To Death With Scissors

 A mother has been accused of stabbing her newborn son to death with a pair of nail scissors before throwing the body into a trash can.

Mother-of-three Anastasia Skorychenko has been sentenced to two years in jail for allegedly stabbing her newborn 22 times, just moments after delivering him on her balcony.

The 30-year-old confessed to the crime during the sentencing in a court in Mykolaiv, southern Ukraine, last week.

Skorychenko explained the motive for the crime by saying "the baby was unwanted" and "she could not afford it", according to reports.

Beautiful Lady Stripped Naked In Uyo After Stabbing Boyfriend To Death

A beautiful young lady, yet to be identified, on Sunday, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State after they attended Winner's Chapel Church together at Abak Road, Igbere TV reports.

IGBERE TV gathered that the ugly incident which happened Along 4 lane Uyo caused panic and led to mob action against the lady.

The angry mob stripped the lady naked, poured water on her before she was rescued by policemen.

An eyewitness who spoke with IGBERE TV on the condition of anonymity said the lady stabbed the boyfriend on the chest and cut his legs.

According to the eyewitness, "after carrying out the dastardly act, the lady locked the doors and gates, jumped the fence before she was apprehended by angry mob that almost did a jungle justice on her".

"She should thank her God that policemen came for her rescue, ' he told our correspondent.

Although the cause of the incident has not been ascertained as the time of filing this report, our correspondent gathered that there was a misunderstanding between both of them which resulted to heated argument.

Efforts  to speak with Akwa Ibom Police Command proved abortive as call placed on their known line has not been answered as at the time of filing this report.

Why I Murdered My Step Son. - Crime -

 Marian Musa, a 24-year-old pregnant housewife in Ede area of Osun State has confessed to the crime of killing her step-son as well as the reason why she committed the act.

According to her, she killed her step-son, a three-year-old identified as Rokeeb to get the attention of her husband.

In a chat with Daily Trust, she added that since her husband married the second wife – Rokeeb’s mother, he has diverted all his attention to him and his mother while neglecting her.

Mariam, the pregnant housewife revealed that she gave the boy a mixed liquid pesticide and Coca-Cola drink which the drank. The boy complained of stomach pain afterwards and he rushed to the Muslim Hospital Ede but he died while receiving treatment.

According to Daily Trust, the mother of the deceased reported to the ‘B’ Division Police, Ede and she alleged that the pregnant housewife poisoned her son with a pesticide which she confessed to.

Wale Olokode, the Police Chief in the state defined the action of the Mariam as horrible and brutal and he added that the pesticide bottle with the remaining liquid content and empty coca-cola bottle used by the suspect to poison the deceased were recovered as exhibits.

He also added that on completion of the investigation, the suspect will be charged to court.

Man Confesses That He Killed His Girlfriend And Sold Her Head For N20000

 According to a Suspect whose name was not disclosed, He Revealed how he killed his Girlfriends and sold her head for N20,000 to an Alfa.

He said that the money he got from selling his girlfriend's head to the alfa was spent on drinks with friends.

He also disclosed that apart from killing his girlfriend, he murdered another victim and also sold the person's head to the alfa.

The man said he killed his girlfriend after they had been in a relationship for 4 months as He invited her over for the night and she came to spend the night with him, during the night he seized her breath till she died and then sold her head.

The suspect said the police arrested him when he decided to sell her phone.

He sold her phone to a man in his area. After some time, her phone was traced by the police and the man was arrested.

He brought the police to his house as the person who sold the phone to him then he was captured and queried, before he confessed to the crime.

My Husband And I Traffick Girls To Italy For Prostitution’

 A ThIrty-five-year-old woman, Mrs. Comfort Innocent, has confessed that she trafficked teenagers from Nigeria to Italy through the crisis-ridden Libya for prostitution.

Comfort, who was arrested by the police in Ogun State, said her husband, who lived in Italy, received the trafficked girls.

She added that she had been in the trade for a long time.

The suspect was arrested on December 22 in connection with the abduction and trafficking of two underage girls.

Her arrest followed a report by Oluwaseun Aduratola and Sakirat Fasasi, residents of Siun town in Obafemi Owode Local Government, who told detectives at Owode Egba Police Station that the suspect abducted their daughters – Blessing Aduratola, 15 and Hasisat Fasasi, 16.

The mothers complained that the suspect was on the verge of trafficking their daughters to Italy through Libya where they would be forced into prostitution.

The Divisional Police Officer for Owode Egba Division, Mathew Ediae, led a team of detectives to arrest the suspect.

Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement, said the suspect had admitted during interrogation to being a human trafficker, who had been in the business for a long time.

Abimbola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), quoted the suspect as saying that her husband, who is based in Italy, receives the girls, while she stays in Nigeria recruiting young girls and sending them to Italy en route Libya.

He said the two girls the suspect abducted were taken to Kaduna State, from where they would be transported to Libya, adding that they had, however, been rescued in Kaduna State by the police.

Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

Man Beats And Butchers His Baby Mama Over Food In Imo

 A 27-year-old businessman, Emmanuel Chukwuma Igwe, has been accused of brutalizing his baby mama, Porcia Achonu, and cutting her with a cutlass, in Owerri, Imo State.

According to the mother of two, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 2, at about 1am, shortly after they had returned from a trip to the village.

“My baby daddy’s younger sister served him food and I asked her about mine. She eyed me and hissed. So I stood up from where I was and went to her room to collect a piece of chicken, she grabbed the chicken from me and asked me if I was mad.

So we started fighting and my baby daddy came in and descended on me. He beat me up so badly that his father came out and was holding me. They locked me inside the house and said I wouldn’t go anywhere. Even when my brother came, they refused to let him in.

Later, my baby daddy asked his father to open the gate so he can leave, but instead, he went to his car and brought out a cutlass which he used to chopped me repeatedly in the presence of his father. At a point, I pretended as if I was dead so he could leave me alone. He fell for it and that was when he drove off with his car.

He’s currently on the run, but his father has been arrested,” she said

Man Stabs His Brother To Death Over New Year Ram In Ogun

 A New Year celebration at Agbado Crossing area of Ogun State turned tragic on Friday after a mentally-sick man identified, Peter Akinjogun, stabbed his elder brother, Femi Akinjogun, to death.

Sunday PUNCH learnt that Femi slaughtered a ram for family members who came to celebrate with him.

Trouble started when the 42-year-old father of two reportedly asked Peter to join him in butchering the ram – a request that angered Peter.

He was said to have picked up a knife and stabbed Femi in the neck, leaving him in a pool of blood. It was gathered that the victim was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The incident was reported to the police at the Agbado Police Station and Peter was arrested by a team led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Kuranga Yero.

A source in the community told our correspondent that Peter has been suffering from mental illness for some time and taken to psychiatric hospitals in Ogun and Lagos.

The source said, “The man has a mental problem. He was taken to the psychiatric hospital in Yaba but he ran away from the facility. I learnt that he beat a nurse and fled. On the New Year’s Day, his elder brother and some family members were butchering a ram and he asked him to join them. That was all. He snapped and went for a knife. He stabbed his brother in the neck and he bled to death. The deceased has two kids and his wife is heavily pregnant. He was buried today (Saturday). The family is not willing to pursue any case.”

A relation of the family, who did not mention his name, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.

He added, “I am their brother. The guy (Peter) is mentally-ill and had been hospitalised at the psychiatric hospitals in Ogun and Lagos. We don’t want this issue to escalate.”

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident happened around 5.30pm on Friday but was reported to the police about 11pm after Femi died.

He stated, “Femi usually slaughtered a ram every New Year’s Day and family members went to his house to celebrate with him. On Friday when they were butchering the ram, he requested Peter to assist them but the younger brother got angry.

“Femi chided him and he (Peter) brought out a knife. He stabbed him to death in the neck. His wife witnessed how the incident happened and became unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital where she was stabilised.

“Peter is mentally sick. He ran away from the psychiatric hospital where he was being treated, claiming that he was okay.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, adding that Peter would be returned to a psychiatric hospital.

He said, “The man has been suffering from a mental problem since 2017 and he was taken to a psychiatric hospital in Abeokuta. His elder brother was the one paying the medical bills. The brother only asked him to assist in butchering the ram but he stabbed him. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.”

Man Dies After His Wife Confessed That Her Boss Is The Father Of Their Two Kids

 Tunde Thomas (alias Tunde Gentle), 45, died about two weeks ago from heartbreak. The two kids from his marriage were discovered to have been fathered by the current MD of FCMB, Adam Nuru who was his wife’s boss.

Tunde’s wife, Moyo Thomas (Nee Ojo), was reportedly engaged in an office romance with her MD, a relationship that was well known to all in the bank.

Happily married Billionaire Nuhu, while he got carried away in fornicating with Moyo, spared no thought for Tunde who was bringing up the two children he thought belonged to him.

Those in the know say Tunde was so in love with and attached to his wife and children that he spent most of his resources on them. He took them to London and Dubai on holidays. He also spared no penny in putting the kids in the best schools.

At the height of the shameful relationship and when the older child was about eight years old, Moyo suddenly resigned from FCMB and travelled to the US with the two children, ostensibly on holiday. It was when the school session started in Nigeria and the children were not returned that Tunde started asking questions and the lady finally summoned the shameless courage to tell him the children were not his own.

She then went to the extent of filing for asylum in the US on the ground of marital violence in Nigeria, against a man known to all men by his gentle and easygoing disposition. Her aim, we learnt, was to get the Green Card and also get Tunde barred from entering the US, so she would not be able to look him in the eye and tell him the bitter truth.

Not long after receiving the sad news first in 2017,Tunde reportedly suffered stroke. He recovered from the stroke but said to have become a shadow of his former self, as he would often cry without reason.

As he got over the illness, Tunde was said to have tried to pick up the pieces of his life. He reportedly started another relationship with a lady lawyer. Soon, he invited some friends to accompany him to visit the lady’s parents on 26th December. However, the visit was not to be. Tunde was said to have got home from work in the night of 15th December 2020 and collapsed at his residence's staircase. He died instantly.

Man Kills His Pregnant Girlfriend In Jigawa, Sentenced To Death By Hanging

 IgbereTV reports that the Jigawa state High court in Rinjim has sentenced a 29-year-old Mustapha Idris, to death by hanging for killing his pregnant girlfriend, Nafisa Hashimu

Mustapha and late Nafisu, a divorcee, were live in lovers in Daneji village. On January 12, 2020, she was found in a pool of her blood. Following the police investigation, it was discovered that Mustapha slit the throat of late Nafisa, leaving her to die in the pool of her blood.

When interrogated, he initially denied the allegation but later confessed to committing the crime. Idris said he killed Ms Nafisu after she told him she was three months pregnant and that he did it to avoid the shame of giving birth outside wedlock.

“I’m ashamed of how the society will see us after she delivers the unborn child out of wedlock, and thus I decided to terminate her life to stay away from shame,” he said.

After months of trial, the presiding judge, Justice Ahmed Kazaure, found him guilty of the crime and sentenced him to death by hanging

Mother Throws Her Baby Into Well In Kaduna To Enable Her Marry Ex-Boyfriend

 A 20-year old mother, Faith Alhassan has been arrested in Kaduna for killing her one-year-old daughter, allegedly to enable her to marry her former boyfriend who was not ready to accept her with a baby.

Faith, who is a Secondary School certificate holder, however, said that, until she carried out the dastardly act and saw the dead body of her daughter, she did not know what she did.

Kaduna State Police command disclosed that on 28th December 2020 at about 0700hrs, the corpse of a baby girl was found in a well at Gantan village of Kachia local government area of the State.

The police further informed that, upon receipt of the report, an investigation was carried out and it was discovered that the mother of the dead baby girl ‘Faith Alhassan’ was the culprit.

According to the police, the culprit went into Gantan village with the baby girl to meet her former boyfriend by the name Dolan Yakubu whom she jilted years back.

She equally told the police that it was when Dolan’s father complained of the baby that she quietly in the night went and dumped the baby into the well where the baby died apparently for her to be able to marry her ex-boyfriend.

The culprit however denied her earlier statement told the police when she simply said she doesn’t know what came over her when interviewed.

Speaking to journalists at the Kaduna State Police Command headquarters where she is currently undergoing investigation, she however denied that she killed her daughter because she wanted to marry her former boyfriend whom she had jilted some years back.

The young lady who said she stays with her grandmother, also disclosed she doesn’t know the whereabouts of her dead daughter’s father.

When asked why she was at the police command, she said, “I am here because of my daughter that I threw into the well and she died, I don’t know what came over me when I carried out the act”.

Asked whether it was because she wanted to marry her ex-boyfriend that she killed her daughter, she said ” I did not kill her because I want to marry, I just don’t know what entered me, I am not happy for doing it” as she burst into tears.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner CP Umar M. Muri said, she will be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigation.

Killed My Mother Because She Was A Witch - Nigerian Runaway Soldier Confesses

 On Tuesday, December 29, The Kaduna state police command has arrested a Nigerian Runway Soldier (Charles Thompson) who murdered his mother (Modupe Thompson) as he stabbed her to death after accusing her of being a witch.

It was stated that Charles always beats his mother.

Speaking to newsmen, Charles Thompson confessed that he killed his mother because she is a witch;

“I was arrested for culpable homicide, because my mother died in my hands while fighting with her. We were fighting as a result of spiritual dispute; I saw her turning to a serpent severally at night, so, it angered me.

She was even appearing and disappearing. And when I went into her room, I saw her with a 10 year-old boy running around her. That was what led to the fight,” he said

Charles claimed he was on sick leave but investigations showed he absconded from duty.

“I am presently on sick leave, because am incapacitated, I was injured, I fell during an attack in Maiduguri. I am not a dismissed soldier, I am still serving.”he said

Thompson who said his father abandoned his mum and siblings for over 20 years, alleged that his mother never had love for him.

“We had always had problems, there was no love. She didn’t have love for her children. So, I want to advise parents to always give assistance to their children and speak well about them in the public''.

The police say he will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
