Manhunt underway after 27-year-old woman raped in cemetery

The rape incident occurred while the woman was walking alone to a bus stop in Mpumalanga. She was on her way to work.

Mpumalanga police have launched a manhunt after a 27-year-old woman was raped on Wednesday 1 July 2020, at the cemetery in Masoyi, Mpumalanga. The woman was walking alone to a bus stop, on her way to work, when the incident occurred. 

The woman told police that it was still dark when she saw someone walking in front of her. She thought it was another woman also going to work. 

“However, when she got closer, she realised that it was a male person and suddenly, the suspect produced a knife and forced her to the graveyard where he raped her,” said Brigadier Leonard Hlathi. 

An investigation into this matter is underway and police request assistance from the community to be able to arrest the suspect.

"He would drag her into the room and molest her", father of mentally challenged victim claims

The Ogun State Police command has arrested a suspect identified as Gbenga Ogunjobi for allegedly having forceful intercourse with his neighbor's mentally challenged daughter, impregnating her in the process.

The Victim was allegedly impregnated earlier by another bricklayer identified as Seun earlier, Seun however abandoned the child and it's mother to her family's care.

According to The Victim's father, Mr Bayo, it was discovered that Gbenga often threatened the victim against disclosing his despicable act anytime he perpetuated it.

The pregnancy however led to the discovery of all that's been going on, the victim disclosed to her family how Gbenga has been sneaking into her room to forcefully have intercourse with her. Discussing this, Mr Bayo Ogunjobi said, "we discovered that she was pregnant. When we asked her who was responsible, she confessed that my neighbour, Ogunjobi, had been sleeping with her in my room."

Further describing the incident, the Victim's father said, "whenever there was nobody at home, he would enter the house and drag her into the room and molest her."

Mr Bayo explained the victim's mental illness history when he said, "My daughter fell ill while growing up and it affected her mentally"

Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed Ogunjobi’s arrest while disclosing that he had been moved to SCID in Abeokuta.

Man impregnates girl, throws baby in bush

The police in Sokoto have arrested one Shuaibu Aliyu, for allegedly impregnating a 14-year-old girl and dumping the baby in a bush.

Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Kaoje disclosed this while briefing journalists on the arrest of suspects of various crimes, adding that the culprit was nabbed for rape and attempt to commit an offence of culpable homicide.

Alhaji Hamisu Abubakar of Kalambaina area, Wamakko LGA, Sokoto State, reported at Wamakko Police Station, that sometime in November 2019, one Shuaibu Aliyu, of the same address, lured a 14-year-old into his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.”

“As a result she became pregnant. She took the child to the suspect who went together with his friend, one Nasiru Attahiru now at large, and threw the baby in the bush at Gidan Boka village, Wamakko LGA of Sokoto State.”

The CP added that a Good Samaritan found the baby and kept her through the Director Social Welfare, Wamakko LGA, who alerted the police. He said the suspect was arrested and had confessed to the crime.

The CP said effort was on to apprehend the other fleeing suspect. He said the case was still under investigation and that it would be lodged in the court after investigation.

In another development, the police commissioner said one Ahmed Alhaji Dahiru Maibuhu, of Rumbukawa area, Sokoto, had lured a 12-years-old girl into a shop at Illela township and had sexual intercourse with her.

The suspect was arrested and had confessed to the crime, the CP stated. He added that the suspect would be arraigned in court after investigation.

Kenyan Policeman Convicted of Raping Pregnant Woman Who Went to Report Case

A Kenyan police officer has been found guilty of raping a woman who had gone to report a case at Lamu Police Station.

28-year-old Rodgers Ouma was convicted of rape by Lamu Principal Magistrate Allan Temba on Thursday with the court finding that he abused his position as a police officer.

The prosecution proved that Ouma lured the victim to his house at Langoni Police Lines where he sexually assaulted her.

The court heard that the 26-year-old woman had gone to the station to report that her husband was trying to force her to take abortion pills in order to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

As she returned home after filing the report, the suspect stopped her and after perusing through her complaint, he offered to help her solve the matter.

Since it was raining and the two were heading in the same direction, the officer offered her shelter in his house for rains to subside.

Ouma took advantage of the situation to sexually abused her. The incident happened on December 8th, 2019 at around 8 pm.

He will be sentenced on Friday, July 3rd.

 A 20-year-old young lady and groundnut seller is currently making the rounds on social media after it was learned that she gave birth to triplets after being raped.

Information as shared by a Facebook user, Precious Oluomachi Livingstone on a popular Facebook group, Igbo Rant has it that the 20-year-old groundnut seller took in after she was raped while hawking.

Taking in from rape is however not the news angle but the fact that she kept the pregnancy and got blessed with triplets.

As at the time of filing this report, information about the lady and the genders of her babies is still scanty. Our readers will be updated once more information are gathered.

S_x-starved woman forces herself on farm worker without condom

A woman who claimed to be s_x-starved because her husband is advanced in age will soon appear in court after she allegedly forced a farm labourer to have s_x with her.

State papers seen by The Mirror show that Maidei Mugwagwa (43) begged for s_x from Brighton Hohodza (29) who stays at Stand 3, Eyrie Farm in Chatsworth but the complainant turned down the offer.

After turning down the offer, Hohodza allegedly moved away leaving the accused in the yard while he went away into his living room.

The State says Mugwagwa who is from Ripley Farm, Chatsworth followed the complainant into the living room, closed the door behind her before stripping naked in front of the complainant.

She allegedly grabbed Hohodza (29)’s manhood and caressed it until it was erect. She laid the complainant on the ground, mounted herself on top of him and had s_x with the complainant without a condom or his consent.

The incident happened on 6 May 2020 at around 10 am.

The State says the complainant was at his homestead where he resides and employed as a caretaker and the accused approached him to have s_xual intercourse with her.

The accused is expected to appear before Magistrate Dambudzo Malunga. – Masvingo Mirror.
