Two-year-old girl ‘raped while in Coronavirus isolation ward’ in South Africa

A two-year-old girl was allegedly raped while in a Coronavirus isolation ward at a hospital in South Africa.

The alleged incident happened at the Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Pretoria.

  

The toddler’s aunt, who chose to remain anonymous to protect the identity of the child, said that the girl was sexually abused while admitted at the hospital

She said the hospital told to the child’s mother that her daughter needed to be placed on an isolation ward after she developed symptoms of Covid-19. After the mother went home, she was contacted later that evening and told the child was crying and appeared to be in serious pain.

The aunt said that after the child had been picked up from the hospital, she appeared to be struggling to walk.

After the mother closely inspected her child she discovered that there had been ‘penetration’, according to the aunt.

Narrating the ordeal, the aunt told News24: ‘The mother and child were referred to the George Mukhari Hospital by the KT Motubatse clinic in Soshanguve on June 15,’ told News24.

‘The nurses at the clinic said since the child was struggling to breathe, she should be taken to George Mukhari Hospital to be tested for coronavirus.

‘The hospital called in the evening and told the mother that the child was crying and in pain. They later called around 11pm and said the child was now sleeping. The hospital staff called again in the morning and told my sister to come and pick up her child because she had been discharged. The hospital said the child had tested negative for Covid-19.’

‘I saw that there was something wrong with the child. As the mother was changing the nappy, she discovered some white fluid on her private parts.

‘She initially thought it was medication as the child had been in hospital. But the following day, that same whitish fluid was still coming out,’ the aunt told local media.

The girl was taken back to the hospital where a nurse reportedly confirmed that there was an indication that the child had been raped at the isolation ward.

Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters told News24 that a rape case has been opened, with the hospital also conducting its own investigation into the incident.

Reverend Joseph Ma’aji Remanded For Raping His 16-Year-Old House Maid

A Reverend, Joseph Ma’aji of Barnawa, Kaduna, accused of raping his 16-year-old housemaid, was on Tuesday remanded in the custody of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by a Chief Magistrate Court in Kaduna.

The Chief Magistrate, Bashir Shittu, ordered that Ma’aji be remanded pending advice from the office of the state Director of Public Prosecution.

The Magistrate said that the court lacked the power to try the accused, who was arraigned over allegation of rape.

“However, the law said one should be taken to the nearest court, that is why you are brought here pending when the police will conclude their investigations and send the case file to lawyers in the ministry of justice.

“The lawyers in the ministry of justice would go through the fact of the case as contained in the case file, if they find sufficient evidence, they will charge you to High Court.

“We would also transfer you to the High Court for the trial to begin, on the contrary, if no evidence is found, you will be discharged and the case is terminated”, the chief magistrate said.

He adjourned the case to Aug. 25, for further mention.

Earlier, NSCDC legal officer prosecuting the case, Yayayi Jauro, said that on July 1, the state social welfare office in Kakuri, Kaduna, reported the case of alleged sexual harassment and act of gross indecency against the Reverend.

Jauro said that Ma’aji was reported to have been unlawfully having sexual intercourse on several occasions with his underaged maid, who was entrusted to him by her uncle, at his residence in Barnawa, Kaduna, since 2015.

Jauro added that Ma’aji had been molesting the girl and requesting for sexual favours unjustifiably and had voluntarily confessed to have committed the crime during investigations.

“Medical reports from Gwamna Awan hospital here in Kaduna had also confirmed commission of the alleged offence”, Jauro said.

He said the offence contravened section 257, 260 and 262 of the Kaduna State penal code law of 2017.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a Non-Governmental Organizations, Bridge that Gap Initiative, had reported the matter to the state Ministry for Human Services and Social Development, requesting it to closely monitor the case. (NAN)

Pastor Caught Red Handed “Eating” Married Choir Member, Narrowly Escape Death.

A preacher man who was caught red-handed in the act with a female congregant by her husband narrowly escaped death on Monday.

A Kakamega preacher has narrowly escaped the wrath of a husband who caught him in the act with his wife.

The husband is said to have come from work earlier than usual and caught his pastor having intimate relations with his significant other on their matrimonial bed.

, the man of God, who preaches at Solid Rock for Jesus Christ, had to run for his life on foot and left behind some of his clothes and boda boda.

The area Chief Alex Mutende rebuked the preacher and his lover for their indecent act and said police had launched investigations into the incident.

Mutende said he had confiscated the pastor’s clothes and motorcycle and the rest of Elukho villagers joined him in condemning the duo’s despicable act.

The local elders asked the preacher to seek the forgiveness of the aggrieved husband and provide cows and goats through the chief.

The agitated husband said he was not ready to forgive his wife for sleeping with the pastor. The couple are parents to three children.

A Man Raped His 80yr Old Mother

A man has been arrested for a sick assault on his own 80-year-old mother.

The 56-year-old man, from El Alamo in the municipality of Los Angeles in the central Chilean province of Bio Bio, was discovered hiding in a septic tank near to where the assault took place, according to police reports.

The victim called police and told them that her son had been under the influence of alcohol when he came to her house and allegedly beat and raped her.

The suspect had to be lifted out of the deep 'septic well' by police officers and firefighters, as a pictures shared by police showed.

Reports said that he has a criminal record for several offences, but did not provide any further details.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether the suspect has been formally charged with raping his own mother yet.

The crime took place in El Alamo in the municipality of Los Angeles in the central Chilean province of Bio Bio. 

The sick assault echoes a case in May this year in Western Australia when a 56-year-old woman had her hip broken then was raped three times by her own son in what a judge described as a crime of 'utmost evil.’

A court heard how the attacker, who could not be identified for legal reasons, raped the woman three times while high on methylamphetamine, a recreational drug known by the street name “ice”.

“People under its influence are prone to commit criminal offences of a wide range of seriousness up to and including acts of the utmost evil, which is what I’m dealing with here,” the judge said.

“Of course it wasn’t methylamphetamine that raped your mother… it was you.”

Liberia: Girl, 16, Explains Ordeal of Being Sexually Assaulted Multiple Times by Her Own Father

Monrovia – Lea, 16, (not her real name), recalls how her own biological father, Darcy Ben, who is in his 60s, has molested and raped her more than once. She now wants the law to punish her father.

Speaking in an exclusive phone interview with FrontPageAfrica, Lea narrated that the burden of living with the feeling that her father “can have sex with me has become unbearable to keep”.

“I want the law to punish him,” she said. “He had sex with me two times and threatened me that he would kill me if I told anyone.”

She narrated that it all started on a Thursday in 2019, when her stepmother decided to spend the night at church for a fast and prayer service. Lea and her siblings were left all alone. Her stepmother requested she managed the shop.

As the night got darker, Lea locked the shop and begin watching movie with her sibling.

“My father came from work, he went to the bathroom and took bath came in the room, locked the door, came on the bed,” she recalled.

“He said to me, ‘you can watch movies and see other children kissing their fathers and mothers’. Then I asked but daddy what are you talking about? That was how, he held my two hands, pushed me to the bed and had sex with me. I bled that night, I was crying. He threatened me if I told anyone he will kill me.”

When her stepmother returned the next morning, Lea was still sad but was afraid to speak out. When her stepmother told her father that Lea had been sad all day, he again threatened her that if she told anyone, he would kill her.

“The first time it happened, he kept asking for me every time he came home and reminded me or asked me if I told anyone, he will say, ‘I hope you did not tell anyone’,” Lea explained.

“I was sleeping in my bed, he came to my room, started robbing my thigh and chest, and ‘when I asked him Papa what you doing?’, he pulled the knife out from his side and showed it to me, saying he would stab me if I shout or tell anyone. He had sex with me again that day. I could not bear it anymore.” she said.

“Sometimes, he would call me to meet him in Red Light because he never wanted someone see what we can be doing. I never used to go there.

“One time, he called me and I told him, anytime he called me again, I will call the Police, that’s how he stopped calling me to meet him places for him to have sex with me.

“The second time it happened, I told my stepmother, but she said I wanted to be in the streets that was why I’m lying on her husband; she didn’t do anything. She only told her husband that I have told lot of people that he had sex with me.”

When Lea first hinted her biological mother about the situation, they were both afraid to confront him because of the threats he had made.

And so, Lea decided to inform her aunty who then reported the situation to the police.

“And then I went to my aunt, told her everything and my aunt told me, he has been doing the same to other children that made them to leave, that it wasn’t his first time,” she said.

Her father was then arrested by the police. He is now undergoing investigation at the Zone 9 Police depot in Jacob Town, Paynesville. He has not been officially charged and sent to court, but the alleged crime committed is rape and incest as defined in the Penal Law of Liberia.

Now, Lea is asking for the law to take its course. “Let them punish him. I don’t want to be doing it with him, because he will damage my future,” she said.
