why is rape trending in Nigeria

It is a clear fact that Nigeria as a nation is facing serious challenges in all sectors. Covid-19 has seemingly added to the challenges. You look everywhere, there is visible groaning: no jobs, no food, no shelter, bad health system, etc. And in this pathetic conditions, some people can still RAPE.

I wonder why rape and sexual assault have become the in-thing Nigeria. It is either these perpetrators have spiritual problems or generational problems or could it be emotional problems or improper upbringing. Too many questions but no answers.
If these people are feeling all these challenges coronavirus has deposited on our laps, they will never involve themselves in such an ignominious act. For example, if I am Hungry or worried I can never have an erection, where will I find the strength to assault someone sexually.

This morning news filtered that a guy raped a 70yr old granny in Ogun state. The reason he gave: "I was drunk" what a dumb reason. What attracts a man to a woman sexually, doesn't exist anymore in an old woman. How can a sane man rape a 70yr old granny?
Every time you on your television or the radio for a news update: All you here is rape, even coronavirus is not trending again.

We need to speak against this using any medium we can and begin to prefer solutions. If the child of your neighbour steals and you turn your face because he is not your child. one day he will rob you or influence your child negatively.

Do not keep quiet, let us shout it loud rape is a crime
