A middle-aged man has been arrested for allegedly raping and killing his brother’s wife in Zamfara.
According to the spokesman of the Police Command in Zamfara state, SP Mohammed Shehu, the suspect confessed to the crime.
Mohammed added that after his outfit receiving information about the incident they rushed there to meet the deceased with her body butchered with a machete.
The suspect,Aminu Bala said he committed the act to get back at his brother after he sacked him from his house.
Police have launched further investigations into the case after which, the suspect will be arraigned before court.
Rape and murder cases have been on the rise in Nigeria .
Within two months over 4 women have been raped and murdered in the country with many being teenagers.
It is about time this is taken very seriously and is paid the necessary attention.
Crime against women should at all costs be frowned upon.
